Introduction

Red Sky Marketing was founded in 2013 by Julian Lancaster, who has been in the business of upmarket hotel representation since 2003.  Julian initially spent 10 years working at Worldwide Sales & Marketing (WSM) whose clients included the prestigious Banyan Tree hotel group.  As well as being closely involved with Banyan Tree and its sister products (Angsana Resorts & Spa and Colours of Angsana), Julian forged a highly successful collaboration with Victoria Hotels & Resorts (Vietnam/Cambodia) – a six-year partnership during which he was instrumental in establishing the brand as a major product in the UK market.  Other notable clients under Julian’s personal management at WSM included Peter Island Resort (British Virgin Islands), Kiaroa Eco-Luxury Resort (Brazil), Vigilius Mountain Resort (Italy), Therasia Resort (Aeolian Islands), and the destination management groups Latincoming (Cuba) and Synergy Tours (Malaysia & Indonesia).

In 2013, Julian was appointed by Synergy Tours to be their full-time UK representative, as well as to develop their business in the Nordic markets.  In taking up this new venture, Julian set up Red Sky Marketing, at the same time extending his area of operation into other sectors of Europe.

In 2015, Red Sky expanded to take on additional clients seeking advancement in the UK, Irish and European travel markets.

Julian has over 15 years’ experience of working with high-calibre hotel product around the world and has during that time become well known in the trade, amassing a wealth of connections in both the leisure and corporate/MICE sectors.

Much time is spent out on the road visiting travel companies – be it for discussions with product managers / decision-makers or for giving product training to sales staff – as well as meeting airlines and tourism offices, and also regularly attends networking events, workshops and trade fairs.

Thus clients seeking wider exposure in these markets can benefit from the established relationships with the vast majority of key sellers to these regions from the UK and elsewhere in Europe.
